Cindy Amaya

Youth development

Cindy was born in the South Bay area of San Diego. She went to Mar Vista High school in Imperial Beach. She was part of High School UrbanLife, which required her to travel 2 hours on the bus and trolley to get to City Heights. She came to faith during her time as a student in UrbanLife. After high school (class of 2010) she volunteered her time as a middle school leader for UrbanLife Middle.

After volunteering for 4&1/2 years she was given the opportunity to apply for a Youth Development apprentice position on staff with UrbanLife. After the apprenticeship finished, she was offered the position of Middle School Director. She has since transitioned from Middle School Director to Youth Development Associate where she works with high school students and is leading UrbanLife’s youth program alongside Kathy Pham.

She got married in August 2018 in Belize and is in the process of petitioning for a residence card for her husband, Mike. She is also pursuing her education with Point Loma Nazarene University in the Christian Studies program with an emphasis on Family and Youth Ministry.
